Sport is bigger than the scoreboard.

SportMinds exists because the best coaching moments don't always happen on the pitch. This page shares the story behind our mission, what we believe in, and why we’re passionate about helping young athletes grow through meaningful conversations.

Our Story

Built from experience. Driven by purpose.

Sport has always been a powerful part of life, but looking back, what we really needed as young athletes wasn’t just better training sessions. It was better conversations. The kind that help you bounce back after setbacks, believe in yourself when confidence is low, and feel truly supported by those around you. We created SportMinds because we wished something like this had existed when we were growing up. A simple, thoughtful way to help coaches, parents, and young people connect, not just about the game, but about who they’re becoming through it.

One mission. Every athlete.

A Purpose Beyond Performance

SportMinds is about more than winning. It’s about helping young athletes feel heard, valued, and empowered.
After witnessing how mental health struggles have affected people we love, we saw how much of a difference real conversations and human connection can make. That’s why SportMinds exists, to give every coach, parent, and mentor the tools to support young people not only in their performance, but in their confidence, resilience, and personal growth — on and off the field.

What we stand for

The values that shape everything we do at SportMinds

Connection Comes First

We believe the most powerful coaching moments start with a conversation. SportMinds helps coaches, parents, and athletes truly connect — not just communicate.

Support Beyond the Scoreboard

We believe success isn't just measured in goals or medals — it's in self-belief, strong relationships, and personal growth. That’s the real win.

Whole-Athlete Well-Being

We care about who young athletes are, not just how they perform. We’re here to support their confidence, mindset, and emotional health — because sport should lift them, not define them.

Conversations Made Simple

Big topics don’t need complicated solutions. SportMinds turns hard-to-have conversations into meaningful, everyday moments that bring people closer.

Growth That Lasts

Every question is a chance to grow — not just in sport, but in life. We create tools that help young people build resilience, reflect deeply, and carry those lessons far beyond the field.

Every Voice Matters

We want every young athlete to feel seen, heard, and understood. SportMinds empowers athletes to speak up, share openly, and grow with confidence.

“My players are more engaged”

Before SportMinds, some of our team talks felt routine. Now, my players open up in ways I never expected. The cards have sparked powerful conversations about confidence, resilience, and focus — and it’s had a real impact, not just on performance, but on how we relate to each other. I’ve seen growth in them as players, and more importantly, as people.

“Fantastic tool for teachers”

SportMinds has brought something special into our school community. It’s more than just cards — it’s a way to help young people reflect, share, and support each other. Our pupils have grown in confidence, empathy, and teamwork. SportMinds help to guide deep, meaningful discussions — and we’re seeing the benefits far beyond sport.

"Open conversations with young people"

It is clear that from a pastoral perspective that having honest, open conversations with young people and trusted adults is key to support their development. These cards offer a starting point for such conversations with developing athletes and encourages them to take ownership of their journey, with support.

“We love conversations in the car”

As a parent, it’s not always easy to know how to support your child in sport without adding pressure. SportMinds gave us a way to connect. Our best conversations happened in the car on the way home — talking about setbacks, confidence, and goals. It’s brought us closer and helped my children grow, not just as athletes, but as people.
